Subject: Costa Rica
Greetings from Costa Rica,
We finally
made it to Costa Rica on Tuesday. It was a long flight but being
here is worth it. We stayed in a city the first night but today we
are in the rainforest. It is hot and humid. The temperature
is about 28 degrees centigrade and the humidity is 100 percent.
Yesterday we saw a very unusual bird called an oropendual.
It make a nest that hangs off the branches of the trees. We saw it go into the nest and come out. I have attached a picture of
the nest.
Last night we went on a night hike. We saw a snake, bats,
army ants, leaf cutter ants, a sloth and more. The sloths look
green because they grow algae in their fur. It helps to make them
blend in with the tree. I have also attached a picture of a sloth.
E--mailing is more difficult that I thought it would be.
I will write back to you as soon as I can. I would be very excited if you would write me a letter in Spanish
describing your school, Cleveland, your class or anything else you would
like to tell some children in Costa Rica. I will try to have them
write back to you. I hope to write again soon.
