How much water do you think you use in your home each day? Well did you know that according to the USGS an average American uses between 80-100 gallons that is about 300-375 liters of water each day. My personal water use average was 106.3 each day. After doing this project I know that I sometimes I waste a lot of water, and living in the desert I know that is not a good thing because some day we might run out of it.
My class average was about 316 gallons per day per person. If I use about 106.3 gallons per day then my family must use more than 106.3 because they use a lot more water when they brush their teeth, take showers and stuff that uses water. Showalter Middle School in Washington class average was 100.00 gallons per day per person and our class average in Tucson, Arizona is 316.00 per day per person. I think the people in Washington use less water because they can get water from the snow that melts and goes into a lake and then goes under the ground and is pumped and filtered back up to them in their homes. My hypothesis is people in drier places use more water than people in wet places. My prediction is people in Tucson, Arizona use more water than people in Seattle, Washington.
My hypothesis was correct people in drier places do use more water than in wet places. I learned a lot about water that I didn’t know before. I learned that our water goes in a clockwise direction and that I use about 106.3 gallons of water per day. |
