Dear Mr. President,

The following letter will inform you about the most recent earthquakes throughout the world. The most recent earthquakes are occurring along the west cost of North America, South America, and the east cost of Asia. There are also many going through Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean.

You can also determine what parts of the world are most prone to earthquakes. You can tell where they are going to occur because if an earthquake happened in one spot (one time) it is most likely to happen in that same spot again.

Continents near the borderlines of plates, huge broken peaces of crust, is likely to be in the danger zone. Earthquakes and volcanoes are located in these areas. Volcanoes and earthquakes have many similarities. One similarity is that they both occur in a group of lines.

There is one thing that causes earthquakes. This is plates bumping into, going away from, or sliding against each other. Thank you for taking the time to read about earthquakes and volcanoes around the world.

Thank you,

Katie O.
