Nitrogen Cycle Lesson Plan
Objectives
Students will:
- consider the importance of nitrogen to the environment
- compare the terrestrial and oceanic nitrogen cycles
- consider the linkages between the carbon and nitrogen cycles
Materials
- computers with internet access
- student worksheet (.pdf)
Assessment
Students should complete and submit the student worksheet for the lesson.
Implementation Tips
If students have not used the concepts of the carbon cycle, photosynthesis and food webs for
some time, it would be helpful to quickly review pertinent information. Perhaps engage students
in a classroom discussion or use concept mapping to review the information.
