Final Report - June, 2003 |
| Redland Middle School (6th
grade), Redland, FL, USA Hello, We are the five sixth graders from Redland Middle School. Redland is located about 25 miles south of Miami, near Homestead, FL. In order to determine the number of minutes of sunlight per day we used measurements from our school's AWS weather station. We subtracted sunrise time from sunset, then we added one hour for daylight savings. Some areas of the earth recieve more sunlight because of the earth's tilt on its axis. Some places are hotter than others because they are closer to the equator. Some new things that we learned this year are how to find latitude and longitude coordinates and other map reading skills. We learned about how to collect data and a lot about weather conditions in other parts of the world. Next run , we should add a submit area. E-mail: bartonscience@yahoo.com |
