Final Report - December, 2004 |
| Calmar School, Alberta,
Canada Hello everyone, This is the final report from the Grade 5 science students at Calmar School. We are located in central Alberta, Canada, and the closest major city to us is Edmonton. People say if you don't like the weather in Alberta, wait five minutes and maybe you will be satisfied. Last week we experienced very mild temperatures that were slightly above zero degrees celcius. This week we have dipped down into the deep freeze and have had days close to minus twenty five degrees celcius. We truely experience all four seasons in this part of the world. Our students enjoyed gathering the data and comparing temperatures and daylight minutes from various places all over the globe. The data confirmed that schools North of the equator have lower temperatures with less minutes of sunlight per day because they are tilted away from the sun. The project was very well organized and enjoyed by everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to participate! E-mail: larry.mackiewich@blackgold.ca |
