CIESE's science and mathematics curriculum materials have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the White House Office of Science and Technology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and
others. Now, CIESE expands it curriculum focus to include engineering design and problem-solving for middle and secondary school students.
From familiar icons like the Brooklyn Bridge, to futuristic applications in biomedical engineering, to preserving the shoreline, engineers play an important role in improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world. Launched in February 2005 to coincide with National Engineers Week, this site is designed to increase awareness of the impact that engineers and engineering have on the world around us.
