Name: Mike Bruno

Position: Director of Davidson Laboratory

Department: Center for Maritime Systems

What I do:

I spend my days working with students and faculty on the design and deployment of ocean and weather sensors, which we use to study problems such as beach erosion, water pollution, and hurricanes. The sensors are developed and tested in the Stevens wave tanks – among the largest in the world – and are deployed in the ocean from our ocean research vessels.

What I like most about my job:

Spending time on the research vessel and the challenge of trying to understand what is being observed and studied.
