1.) The project begins with a question. Example:

  • "Do you think organisms in your river, lake, or stream are the same all over the world?"
  • "What's the quality of your water? Will it be different around the world?"

2.) Students then develop a hypothesis.

Example: Students participating in a prior run of the project hypothesized that people all over the world would NOT find the same organisms.
