Exploring Biology Using the Internet
Purpose
During today's workshop, you will examine Internet
applications in Biology. You will be introduced to a CIESE
collaborative project in the area of genetics and will spend time exploring
the data analysis activities which are part of the project. In addition,
the Genetics Project will be used to examine general implementation issues
concerning the use of collaborative projects in various classroom environments.
Real time data activities will also be introduced and explored. Finally,
participants will be given a block of time to explore a large range of
general biology resources.
Resources appropriate for K-8 teachers are marked with an
(*). The other resources may be appropriate
for K-12 students.
