Circle 0 game
For Teachers

ACTIVITY: Circle 0 game  Student worksheet

This game is part of the National Library of Vitual Manipulatives and specifically helps students practice adding integers.

Circle 0 can be played in a variety of settings:

  1. One computer classroom with a projector
  2. Computer lab with 1 or 2 students per computer
  3. No computer at all

To play the game

  1. Read through the instructions and model a game or two for the class.
  2. If you are using a computer for students to work as a class, work in small groups or work individually use both pages of the student worksheet for student accountability.
  3. If you want to do Circle 0 without computers, prepare ahead of time several games printed from the web.  Use the first page of the student worksheet for a practice game.  Then allow students time to work in small groups or individually to complete another game.  Since you will not have the advantage of having the computer check the answers, have students present their game and solution to the class for checking.
