"The
students are currently working on a Microsoft Excel Project (How Much
Fat Do I Eat?)
in
which they make calculations to determine how many calories and fat are
contained in a Hamburger, French Fries and Milk Shake at various fast
food restaurants. The students first complete internet research
to locate the information at McDonalds, Burger King, Johnny Rockets,
Wendy’s and Sonic. They then put the information in a spreadsheet
and create formulas for their calculations. They also create two graphs
(fat grams and calories) to show a graphic representation of their
findings. I must say they are starting to take a serious look at how
much fast food they eat because of the research and graphs they are
conducting and creating."
