This activity asks the student to make a semi-regular tessellation. There are 8 such tessellations. Students use Sketchpad shapes above to make all the tessellations and then explain why they tessellate.

Another approach used with a different group of students to come up with the 8 semi-regular tessellations with the virtual manipulatives from Utah State. A new feature in the library is the ability to design your own lessons. This lesson sequence which was developed during the summer workshop will be used in year 2.
