 Passaic MATRIX Workshops -> Thursday, July 7, 2005 Today's Activities:Microworlds Activities Triangles and Untriangles - Some triangle explorations with Sketchpad Number Town - the Blockbuster Movie Family Fractions - It's time for all fractions in Fractionville to return home to their respective color pads. See if you can help them. Fraction Darts & Decimal Darts - A "different" approach to learning fractions.Number Guess game Factor Game - Two players (or teams) compete for the highest score by picking numbers from a screen which are then added to their score. There is a catch though. Whenever a player picks a number, the total of every factor of that number still showing on the screen is added to the opponent's score. How the West Was One + Three x Four Challenge - West is a board game designed to encourage students to explore order of operations by making mathematical equations. Here is a challenge that is based on the game. Other Activities Who is the “fat” cat in this bunch? - Data analysis activity involving measurements of cats: their weights, body lengths and determining their “fat” ratios. How Old are you in Dog Years? Animals mature at different rates from humans. You can get an idea of how far along in its life span an animal is if you think of its age in "human years." more-> Shopping Spree - analyze best buy possibilities from two local grocery stores on-line! Glob Hunt - find the hiding Glob by entering X and Y coordinates.
