Use Excel to create a Climatogram

This RWLO could be applied in the following courses: Educational Technology, Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet course, Earth Science (weather), and others. Specifically, this RWLO meets the following Educational Technology course competencies (others are listed below):

  • Use content-specific tools, i.e. spreadsheets and the Internet to support learning and research.
     
  • Use technology resources to facilitate higher order and complex thinking skills, including problem solving, critical thinking, informed decision making, knowledge construction, and creativity.
     
  • Use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources.
     
  • Use technology in the development of strategies for solving problems in the real world.

Other Course Competencies:

  • Probability: Interpret real-world data presented in graphs, charts and tables, as well as relationships between data sets;
     
  • Science: Demonstrate knowledge of the nature of science by drawing reasonable conclusions from observations and data;
     
  • Earth Science: Become familiar with the general concepts involved in the atmospheric sciences.
