Accessing Chemical Safety Information

Assessment

  • Locate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) for a household chemical product using either the manufacturer's website, a recommended database of common household chemicals, or a search engine such as google.com.
  • Create a word-processed document that summarizes the relevant information
  • Explain terms used on the selected Material Safety Data Sheets such as toxic, flash point, flammable, etc.
  • Use email for communication with the instructor, including sending and receiving attachments
  • Verbally explain the safety procedures for working with the selected chemical

You will be assigned points for the completion of this assignment, based on the following rubric:
