Assessment

Each student’s work will be evaluated as pass/fail using the rubric below.  The rubric is broken down into the 4 parts of the lesson; reading and identifying the key behaviors for each of the 5 NBPTS core propositions, identifying the core proposition that best explains what teachers are talking about, posting an example of one of the core propositions using a field work example, and posting a response with rationale to a peer’s field work example and correspnding core proposition.

Successfully completing this lesson involves students being able to:

1.   Identify the key behaviors of the 5 NBPTS core propositions as exhibited by the ability to list at least two key behaviors for each of the 5 core propositions.

2.   Connect what a teacher is saying about what she/he needs to know and be able to do to the key behaviors of the relevant core proposition.

3.   Post a field work example, identify the corresponding core proposition, and provide a rationale for choosing the core proposition you did to explain the field work example.

4.   Post a response to a peer’s field work example.  Include in the response the rationale for agreeing or disagreeing with the core proposition used to explain the field work example.
