Rules for Decidarts

The goal of the darts game is to pop the balloon in the least number of throws.

When you click on the Start button, the balloon is placed randomly on a vertical number line that starts at 0 and goes to 1.

Click in the text area (above the start.over button) and enter a decimal fraction that approximates where you think the balloon is on the number line. For example, if .7 is your guess that would be too big. On the other hand .5 would be too small. You would need to choose a number in between .5 and .7 Continue to refine your number until you pop the dart.

Click on start again and repeat. Play 10 rounds. See what your average score is. Compare your score with other students.

Notes
The dart has to hit the balloon in the white rectangular area in order to produce a pop. You will be given clues as to whether your guess should be larger or smaller.

Options for games
Level 1 is the hardest level. Drag the slider for an easier level. 20 is the easiest. You will notice that the balloon becomes larger and much easier to hit.

Clue button
Lets you divide the line into as many parts as you wish. 10 is a good choice. Note (below) that the clue button was used and it indicates that a guess of .48 should pop the balloon.
