Project Management Guide

Time Management Plan

This component deals with the budgeting of class time and the development of a basic timeline for implementation. Internet projects can require much more time management than traditional classroom projects. This can be particularly true when implementing collaborative projects which often have fixed deadlines. Specific parts of the Time Management Plan are shown below.

DISCUSSION TOPIC: A class in Cleveland registers to participate in the Monster Project and is paired up with another school in Boston with whom they will swap descriptions and pictures of monsters drawn by students in the class. Half-way through the project, the school in Boston drops out and none of the students in Cleveland receive the monster descriptions they had been anticipating. What "rules" should all teachers follow when committing to participate in a collaborative project? How might the teacher in Cleveland salvage this situation?
