Telementoring Projects
Introduction:

Basically, a Telementoring Projects is an electronic version of a traditional mentoring relationship. A student is matched up with a professional (business person, scientist, etc.) who then shares his/her expertise and experience in a mutually beneficial relationship. The professional is known as a mentor and the student is known as the protégé.

To begin with, let's look at an already existing Telementoring project. One of the best projects on the web is the Electronic Emissary has been in operation since February of 1993. The Emissary matches students and teachers with experts from different disciplines interested in maintaining an online mentoring relationship "for purposes of setting up curriculum-based, electronic exchanges".
